January is typically a slow month for live music, but there are a few noteworthy shows worth checking out.
Thursday, January 15 – Jukebox the Ghost w/ Twin Forks at Old National Centre: Jukebox the Ghost’s latest was some of the best pop I heard in 2014. The band deserves to have a wider audience. Twin Forms is the latest project from Dashboard Confessional’s Chris Carrabba. Looks to be a fun one.
Friday, January 16 – Mike Adams at His Honest Weight at The Hi-Fi: MAAHHW’s Best of Boiler Room Classics was another one of my favorite albums of 2014. Adams and his band always put on a great show.
Wednesday, January 21 – Strand of Oaks w/ Bully at The Hi-Fi: Another great 2014 album. Been waiting for Strand of Oaks to swing back through Indy. Guaranteed to be a live one.
Others of interest: If you’re down in Bloomington on January 18, head to the Bluebird for the always amazing Lucero. And Knox Hamilton returns to Indy on January 23 with a show at Radio Radio.
